Description

The privileges of an Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) are to conduct flight instruction for the issue, revalidation, or renewal of an EIR (En-route Instrument Rating) or an IR (Instrument Rating) in the appropriate aircraft category.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

  • *For FI(A) certificate holders -or if you have previously held a FI(A) certificate:

    6 Flight Hours:

    • 3 Flight Hours–FNTP II Simulator Turbo Prop Aircraft
    • 2 Flight Hours–Cessna 172 Aircraft
    • 1:15 Flight Hour Assessment of Competence–Cessna 172 Aircraft

    10 Theoretical Training Hours

    • Instrument theoretical knowledge
    • Preparation of lesson plans
    • Development of classroom instructional skills
  • *For non-FI(A) certificate holders:

    11 Flight Hours:

    • 8 Flight Hours–FNTP II Simulator Turbo Prop Aircraft
    • 2 Flight Hours–Cessna 172 Aircraft
    • 1:15 Flight Hour Assessment of Competence–Cessna 172 Aircraft

    35 Theoretical Hours

    • 10h Technical Training including: instrument theoretical knowledge, preparation of lesson plans and development of classroom instructional skills)
    • 25h Teaching and Learning Theory
