- At what age did you start your training to become a pilot? I started my training in 1993 at 19 years old.
- How many years did it take you to get your licence to work as a pilot? I was studying at the university while doing all my flight lessons. I combined my degree and flight training and it took me three years. I started to work as a pilot when I was 22.
- For how many years have you been enrolled in commercial aviation? More than 20 years.
- How long did it take you to get your pilot licence to join an airline? I got my first airline job two after two years, from commercial aviation to ATPL.
- What is the hardest stuff to learn to fly? None. If it is hard, it just takes dedication and a mindset that you just won’t give up.
- Does one need to be a genius in math and physics to become a pilot? Not even close. A general ability to do general math will do… adding, substracting… I was never a math genius and I fly the largest two engine airplane in the world.
- Do you consider pilot pre-requirements affordable? It has gotten more expensive but there are various financing options out there.
- What is the best part of the job? I enjoy the fact that it is not 9-5 and it takes me to different places all the time.
- What do you consider the worst in the life of a pilot? We can be away from home a lot.
