LIGHT AIRCRAFT PILOT LICENCE (LAPL)

The EASA Light Aircraft Pilot Pilots License (LAPL) entitles the license holder to fly a European registered aircraft almost anywhere in the world. It is for private flights in light aircraft only and the holder of a LAPL may not fly for remuneration. The course consists of 100 hours of ground school training and 30 flying hours, and can be completed in 8 weeks.

PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum age 17 years old
  • Understand the English language
  • Hold a Class II Medical Certificate

The holder of an EASA Part-FCL LAPL(A) is permitted to fly:

  • Aircraft with a maximum take-off weight not exceeding 2000KG and 4 passengers
  • During the hours of daylight
  • In flight visibility of not less than 3km
  • While remaining in visual contact with the ground at all times
  • With passengers, for leisure or on business, but not for remuneration
